We are kinda going the other way around. We do not want more house. Current house is 1700 sq ft and do not desire anything larger. But we would like to have more space around the house and more distance to the neighbors. Also, I do want to live near a city (Who knows how the job markets will change over time) but not in one. Maybe it is just growing up in small towns (and half my growing up was in the woods 30 miles from any town) and maybe it is watching the current city I live in the suburbs of devolve into a place I want to spend zero time in anymore, or maybe both But do want to be able to build a large shop for both car projects and woodworking projects and love the idea of having wooded area on the property, so that is what we are going for. My wife even said she would be 100% on board of a huge shop with a 2nd story living space lol. Probably wont go quite to that extreme, but she is certainly not pushing for us buying a 5000 sq ft home with a bunch of extra space just to clean and heat.

I found a place I like.

It has everything I like but might be a bit of a squeeze on the finances. but there is always powerball.
realistically I'm not sure I could afford to run the place even if someone simply gave it to me.

lol! Yeah a bit more than we would be able to spend!

It is funny to read the "Maines largest freshwater lake" which is 75 acres I mean we have plenty of those tiny lakes here but funny that is the big one! But they have that big saltwater thing next to them I guess

I love Tudor houses and love horses, so I'm sold.

Note my last sentence. it's pretty easy to take care of in my dreams.
it's called staff. need 2 or 3 kids just to maintain the golf course not to mention the guy who actually knows how to take care of the greens and fairways.

Taxes are the easy part if you have the money. Finding good, reliable, trustworthy staff is the hard part, but it is nice to dream, if you dream right everything is perfect

This is probably a bargain compared to real estate price in Pebble Beach or Malibu.
