I have been a HO Slot Car collector since I was in grade school. We use to race at different friends tracks around the neighborhood
Billy, were those the kind where you bought track and made the course in your own house? I guess the ones where you'd go play on a big track in a building don't exist any more and used larger cars.

Billy. My son raced slot cars for years. Now he's graduated up to a bit larger model of rcs. He and his family often take off in their rv for weekend races in North Carolina and other places. He bought one of those for his daughter for Christmas one year and they raced it in my driveway and I was amazed at how fast they go. I didn't quite get out of the way fast enough when the granddaughter was operating her little model and ended up getting slammed!! My son enjoys building them and is constantly building motors for more speed. Thanks for posting those pics. He'll enjoy seeing them.

I am a big mountain biker. A nice 10 to 12 miles in the woods no cell phones and a couple of hours of peace and quiet. And its good for you. Well except when you crash, which does happen every once and a while. But a little hint of danger is what also makes it fun.

Thanks for the comments. Its just part of a passion I had early in my childhood. I can remember being behind my dads seat in the car and telling him to "Gun it!" Pretty funny now that I think about it, I like to "Gun It!" against those young guns with there turbo, NOS etc!!!

Oh, I was so addicted to those as a kid. In the 60s I had a big track built on a 4 by 8 sheet of ply wood and then I put an extension on that to make it bigger. I always had trouble with the cars flying off the corners until they came out with the banked turns. Then in the early 70s, they came out with big heavy front pins that really helped keep the car locked into the slot. But by then I was out of the hobby.
