But unfortunately there's no IQ or skills test for parenting, though now I see there is a new reality show, "The Nanny", to bring under control unruly kids of idiots who've managed to screw their kids up by the age of 2. There's no excuse for a parent not realizing that his child is not learning at the level he should be; however, a school system that passes kids who can barely read and write is also a huge problem. We have to realize that the parents who don't give a $#!T probably are never going to give a $#!T. Do we want their failing children to have the same lack of drive and enthusiasm the parents do? If someone doesn't offer them the opportunity to develop that, we're stuck with a vicious circle.
