That rope-a-dope picture is really cool.

You light their little tails and puff through the beaks, of course.
Thanks for clearing that up. I've often wondered about which is the best way to smoke a turkey.

If you do it the other way it tends to burn up the side.

for the hummingbirds.

Have you folks been seeing them? I have my feeders out, and change it regularly, but I've only had a couple of sightings in the last few weeks.

I'm hoping once more of our flowers bloom (they've been behind schedule due to cool weather) that the hummers will find us once again.

They've been few and far between so far this year. I suspect it's the dry weather. We do have one pair that is nesting in a tree close to the feeders.

We have lots of them around our house. In the morning they fly patrol over their area and the dogfights they get into are wild. You can hear them, either their wings hitting or their beaks clicking! Years ago my parents lived at Clearlake (Ca) and we could stand on the deck, holding the feeders in our outstretched hands while half a dozen of them fed. Wish I had pictures.

After seeing this thread bumped, I refilled my 3 feeders today. I've had some but nothing like last year's herds.

We have about the same number this year as most years.

I was stopped at a traffic light last Wednesday afternoon when I noticed one swoop down and pull up short when she realized the the red S2000 wasn't the mother-lode of red flowers! They're constantly checking it out when the garage door is open at home, too.

for the birds.

The hummers have been more active lately. They've been at my feeders, and in our flowers.

My sis in NH always has hummers. I snapped these two pics today. I still think these creatures are so very cool.
