Wow. Having had cracked ribs and knowing it hurt like hell just to breath, I can't image the guts it took to play hockey with one.

Luongo retires
WHAT a career he had.......!!!!
From the NHL.com Website
Roberto Luongo, the third-winningest goalie in NHL history, announced his retirement on Wednesday after 19 seasons.
"This is one of the toughest decisions I've faced in my life and it took me a long time to make it," Luongo wrote in a letter posted on the Florida Panthers website. "After thinking about it a lot over the past two months and listening to my body, I made up my mind. It just feels like the right time for me to step away from the game."
The 40-year-old is 489-392-91 with 33 ties, a 2.52 goals-against average, a .919 save percentage and 77 shutouts in 1,044 NHL games with the New York Islanders, Panthers and Vancouver Canucks. His 489 wins are third behind Patrick Roy (551) and Martin Brodeur (691), his 1,044 games played are second to Brodeur (1,266), and he is ninth in shutouts. He also won gold medals with Canada at the 2010 and 2014 Winter Olympics.
