There is a downside to the IPhone--the battery needs to be charged nightly. They've got to work on that one...

I'm blonde and I'm freaking old. I don't need any more knowledge. I already know enough to know that technology is changing too rapidly for me to keep up.
OMG, I love you! (don't tell anyone)

$199. The price is subsidized by AT&T to get as many of these into the market as possible. Or is it subsidized by Apple? Well one of the two.
I believe AT&T is paying Apple $300.00 for every iPhone they sell.

Dave, you do know you posted your proclamation of love for Val on the world wide web, don't you?

I love many of the new gadgets out there but can't keep up with them all. The budget just does not allow it.

A friend has the I touch. I thought about one of those. No need to buy a service, just grab whatever wireless connection is out there. IF we traveled more, I'd consider one, but I don't see the need right now.

Heck my cell phone is a bare bones $30.00/month plan and I still think that is too much money.

I'm with Val...I have zero interest in getting any more gadgets. I had to get a camera phone last time, but I never use the camera. The least amount of money per month works for me for communication.

Jim and I wonder constantly about this apparent "need" for instant communication that the cellphone craze set off. Most of the time Jim forgets to turn his on especially when I need him to pick up something for me at a store or something. However, we manage. I keep mine on all the time and often peeps will call, but I don't hear it ring since its upstairs in the closet in my purse . When I happen to need my purse, I'll see that I have missed calls and then I forget my password to check my phonemail. I have NEVER used the camera (except by accident) and have only stored a few numbers in the thing for people that I call with some frequency orrrr so the police will know who to call if I end up dead or injured someplace. I think my phone has an appointment calendar but I'd rather have a dedicated gadget (pda) to store address, phone numbers, etc.
Do any of you remember when you just answered the phone at home from time to time and if you were not at home people would just call back later?
Do you reallllllly need to be carrying on a convo in a restaurant, the grocery store, driving along in the car or anyplace you happen to be? I think it is overstimulating and part of the trouble with EVERYONE today is this "need" for instant gratification.

This poses a question I have...

How do you make your emergency number stand out from the rest?
Does it just say 'call in emergency' in your address book?
