Default Michael Vick is back

Michael Vick has paid for his crime and is back in football. What do you think about his return? I feel since he did his time for the crime he should be given another chance. Do you feel the same way? Oh, yeah . . . GO EAGLES.

it's been awhile since I was offended by the actions of the NFL.
It's not that the actions of some of their players are less offensive but they have managed to lower expectations to the level that nothing surprises me anymore.

I do have a modicum of pride when it comes to the operations of the Boston sports teams. Some years back, shortly after the Krafts took ownership of the Pats, Bill Parcells drafted a player with a known history of battering women during his college days. Within days Myra Kraft ( wife of the owner) publicly stated " He will never play for the Patriots."
She was right, He didn't.

There may be some players in the league with a genuine dislike for Mr Vick.

It may make for an interesting Sunday afternoon if they meet on the field at the same time.

with your statements relative to the actions of MANY NFL players, etc. I do not however equate dogfighting with wife battering although both actions are absolutely horrifying and abhorrent to me. I do, though, know that dogfighting even though it is an illegal activity is conducted throughout the USA and various countries abroad. There is a certain level of society in which this type of thing is done and enjoyed. I find anything that exploits a living creature who cannot speak for itself horrifying. I do though think that once a person has paid society's price for his crime he should be permitted an opportunity to demonstrate his "reformation". Here in my hometown a local veterinarian was caught participating in dogfighting. At the time he was my vet and had cared for my Bostons over the years. He never lost his license, was heavily fined and able to return to his thriving practice, which no longer included me. Dogfighting has just never been considered all that "bad" in the rural south. That's just a statement of fact and has nothing to do with my opinion of the activity.

It is pretty well established that those who abuse animals are abusers in other areas of their lives. I'm not buying his remorse one bit. It will take alot of time and effort on his part to change my mind.

I agree with you 100%. The guy is a sadistic nut case and doesn't belong in professional sports.

he paid his dues, we should be more concerned with the Stalworths of the NFL. Vick missed 2 years of NFL and did hard time. STallworth will miss 1 year of NFL and did a whopping 24 days of time in i beleive county.

wheres the justice there

A 1.6 million dollar contract with an option for next year might have had some influence on his remorseful statements. After all, the idiot had a multi million dollar contract before he decided to commit these heinous acts and was on easy street. Now he needs the money to pay his debt. Time will tell but I am having less and less tolerance for these "professional" athletes who choose to commit crimes and shoot themselves in the foot or should I say leg. They portray a poor example to the youth who look up to them as role models.
