I had that problem when I replaced windows a few years ago. I ended up at my local Sherwin Williams. They custom mix paints, so I asked if they could do stains. They weren't able to scan my sample, but I left the sample piece of trim with a virgin piece and they played around until they got a very close match. Took them a few days playing with colors in between customers, but there was no charge for the service.

I've gotten the names of a lot of folks to do handyman work, house painting, etc. and they give honest opinions about who is good, who is too pricey, etc. Here's a link and you can check to see if your neighbors are a part of this: https://nextdoor.com/
^Thank you, Darlene! I've heard of the group but never persued it. I will, now. We have a Facebook group in my other neighborhood that does the same job, since there are so many homes there.

Deb, I am in the house but will leave for five days in over a week. I really want to stay here so I need to quit my Saddleback Hospital volunteer job for good.

Patty, I really hope the Nextdoor group is active in that area. I've gotten loads of good info from neighbors who actually used certain workmen/companies to do work -- both good and bad experiences. I'd love to meet up at one of the get-togethers the ladies in the group have, but haven't been able to as yet.
