I have had medial epicondylitis in my right elbow for over a year but it got sore enough that I quit doing weights about 4 months ago. I can see the results. I want to get back to doing some weights to firm back up my arms and shoulders without making my elbow worse.

I have put nine pounds back on so my resolution is to take those nine back off the same way. Had turkey for dinner tonight and I sure did miss my wine I would have had with it. But it's easier than all the diets counting calories, eating only protein etc etc. I know I'd never last on one of those. (I'm also having a colonoscopy in 3 weeks and that will knock off a few all by itself)
OT - speaking of wine, did they find out where the $300K worth of wine from French Laundry went??? The perps knew what they were doing, stealing only certain of the finest bottles.

Emil,

I was a very heavy smoker but I stopped cold turkey almost 20 years ago. Keep up the good work, it gets easier with every passing day. Right now it's probably very hard, but very soon you'll be very glad you stopped.

No resolutions this year. I never keep them anyway. I'm just going to try to do the best I can with everything.

If I cut out sweets and most carbs, control portion sizes and exercise ( for me), this should be a doable resolution.

I'm going to start a new thread next week, I think. I should be over this cold by then. In short, I gained most of it back and I have been up and down 10 or 15 pounds over the past six months. I'm going to get serious about it again this winter. Enjoy the colonoscopy!

Amen brother, the first year or so was hard but then one day you walk by someone and they're smoking and it's really irritating.
That's when you know you've truly quit and don't ever have to worry about going back.

^Me too. I hate the belly I've got. I love the wine and other drinks that helped make it, though.

As a 3-pack a day guy who stopped cold turkey I know how tough it is. Good for you.
I am going on 30 years since I quit my 3 pack a day habit, cold turkey. You can do it, Emil!
