On the other hand, the Americans are beginning to sound like a bunch of whiners for the women's "artistic" gymnastics. First they complaint about the age of the Chinese competitors, then they complaint about the scoring (even though I don't think there is any Chinese judge in the panels). It is getting tiring. I'm glad it will all be over after tonight.
Give me a sport that is measured and not a subjective scoring.
The ball went through the net XX times or he covered the distance in X.yy seconds.
look at the crap they had in the boxing scoring.
The pc picture is better in the standard size than in the enlarged. Also, we found out that you can sometimes improve the picture (less jumpy) by signing out and re-trying. The wife watched lots and lots of the horsey stuff.
Olympics trivia question. (They asked this one on a local broadcast but I knew the answer...although I have no idea HOW I knew the answer.)
What are the only two olympic sports where men and women compete head to head?

interesting - Takeru Kobayashi better watch his back!
I finally got to see some of the Taekwondo competition by watching the Spanish channel. I must say I was disappointed by the caliber of the competitors, it looked more like kick boxing than the traditional Taekwondo I knew. All the competitors came out kicking (sometimes wildly) and no one used their hands at all. But since I didn't understand Spanish, I had no idea what the commentator was saying about the matches.
I'm still hoping to see some of the ping-pong matches.

USA women's VB just swept Cuba 3-0. Amazing, especially considering they were longshots to win any medal and Cuba swept them 3-0 earlier in the games.
Now they play either Brazil (heavy gold medal favorites) or China for the gold/silver match. China would be a major storyline, because the US coach is a athletic superhero in China. She was so popular that her wedding was televised on live national TV in China. If it's Lang Ping's USA team against China for the gold medal, the Chinese are going to be going crazy.
On the other hand, if the Brazilians beat the Chinese in their semi-final match, then the home crowd is going to be about 100% behind the Americans.

Well, the girls did it. Pretty exciting match considering it was May and Walsh on the beach.
My son is anxious to see Ping Pong and told me it would be on Saturday morning. Consult your local listings.
