Rusted sub frame on 1998 Honda Accord
#21
I saw this thread, and I thought, "Hmmm...didn't we have that problem on our old Honda Accord?"
Then, I saw that this thread was old, from Aug 2014, and that the original poster was none other than my hubby, goblue.
Since goblue posted this original query, we bought a new 2015 Hyundai Genesis in Sept 2014 for him, and in Dec 2017 a new 2018 Toyota Camry Hybrid for me.
However, since goblue is still commuting to work every day, he is using the Camry Hybrid since it gets such good mileage, and I am using the Genesis to make my daily 1 mile treks to the senior center for my exercise classes. Works for us.

The underside of my 2000 integra looks brand new after 18 winters of driving in salt laden Ontario. Brake and fuel lines look new too. Reason is that the car was dealer rustproofed when new. The Honda dealer rustproofing was like thick honey, not the prettiest stuff on earth , and basically looks like crap in the engine bay, but the stuff works great. It was applied to subframe parts underneath the car in the good ol days, I don't think they do as good of a job these days.
