Also I think perhaps Rob wants you to meet him in 2025 at the Honda headquarters in Torrance, CA for the twenty-fifth anniversary of the S2000, and you will both have collectors' cars bone stockers with all the numbers matching!
Its the Concours d'Excellence at Pebble Beach in the year 2027, but that has nothing to do with my reasons for saying no.

I expect both you and Gene to be there with me.

I say the same thing...but I why not keep both rides...that way, when you are in a 9k mood, you have your first S2k?
I kind of had that situation. When I bought my '05 Suzuka, I made my husband (ex husband, now) keep the '01 Silverstone. He still has it. I could drive it when I wanted to. I just took it out to get new tires put on it a couple of months ago. When I drove it, it made me really appreciate my '05. The 9k rev is fun and feels like a steeper ramp but I'm now into the earlier ramp of acceleration on the 8k rev in the AP2. Also like the ride better in my '05, not feeling every single flaw in the pavement.

I MY01, it has 102,800 miles on it. Although the front end paint has seen better days, the car still handles and accelerates like a S2K should.

And it's still gorgeous!

I didn't vote...but was surprised to see the results...seems more folks would recommend you trade "up" and get the '07.

I sorta have the same dilema...

My '02 has 122k miles and while she's running fantastic, I know it's just a matter of time...

Truth is, the AP2 is not any better than our AP1...and then _all_ of the little mods and personalization starts all over. It seems overwhelming quite honestly and never have I owned the _same_ car for such a period of time. I'm attached to my baby...and so I can't ever make the move to trade "up."

I see the poll is running 2 to 1 to move on. Gene if you listen to that you can say goodbye to the Silverstone.

I admit I'm a little surprised but then I shouldn't be as many of the voters have already done that.

Personally, if I really like a car I would never consider trading it for the sake of trading up. I drove a Maxima, as a daily driver, for 18 years. I drove a MGA for 33 years and still would be, had it not been wrecked. For me, nothing can replace the first one. I'd swap my current MG for my first one is a second and totally ignore the fact my current one is as perfect as they come and in a color combo I love.

To all who have given me your opinions on this question, thank you very much. Believe me, I have considered every one, and have finally made my decision:

I will be calling the dealer tomorrow morning to tell him that:

NO DEAL! I'm keeping my '01!

Thanks again, everyone, for your input. It was a really difficult decision to make, but eventually, my brain won out over my heart.

Patty, should I make a deal for you? I'm sure that it will be on the lot for a while.
