Default Speeding Tickets

I'm not a real fan of cops controlling speed on the roads (this is an understatement), but the truth is that I've been pretty lucky on this this score over the years.

I was just curious... How many speeding tickets have Vintage folks gotten in their S2000s??

I have zero. Not proud of that, exactly, but it helps with the insurance! And, seriously, Neb is no garage queen. I use it as a daily driver for almost 9 months out of the year.

One: 60 in a 40 zone. The officer reduced it to 45 in a 40, though. That evening I bought a Valentine V1, and it has saved me several times since.
(I didn't drive this way when I was 17!!!!)

I've heard great things about the V1. Lots of S2000 owners have 'em. Glad it's worked out so well for you, Gene.

(I drive much more aggressively now - at 42 - than I did at 17, no comparison... The S2000 is like a shot of adrenaline)

I got one in my 4Runner last year, but none so far in my S. The day I got the ticket I was too lazy to move my V-1 from my S to my 4Runner. Had I moved it I'm sure I'd have avoided the ticket. The V-1 is worth every penny.

Zero tickets, but I'm not driving the car alot. I have been driving it fast on occasion, though. Been lucky I guess!

That's great, Rob, Deb.

Rob, do you have a mount for the V1, or do you just stick it to the dash/windshield? I've seen some pretty creative installs for the V1 on the S2000.

One for 75 in a 60 zone just seconds after a red Corvette passed me like I was sitting still and I thought, "If I went that fast I'd get a ticket,"

Now I have a radar/laser det.

I use the suction cup windshield mount. I bought an extra one and leave one in the S and one in my 4Runner. I move the V-1 from car to car. I use the cigarette lighter plug in my 4Runner and wired directly into my fuse box in the S.

When I drive my wife's TL I feel naked without the V-1. This weekend I'm taking it with us to Virginia Beach. I know I can't use it in Virginia, but I will use it all the way to Virginia and back.

I got a 85 in a 65 but I didn't even get the pleasure of driving the S2000 (trial coming up). I was driving my son home from college & the drive was getting toooo long so I thought I'd help it along.

I got a Solo S2 right after that & it's saved me a couple of times.

recently got nailed by laser - 53 in a 35. Just keeping up with the flow of traffic - it's a very wide 4 lane road (actually designated as hwy 900)
