Rob,
Plead NOT Guilty. Ask for written deposition. If you don't plead Not Guilty you have no chance of getting this reduced to a stop sign violation. If it takes trooper longer than 30days to get you a written deposition then your case must/might be dismissed.
Please Plead Not Guilty just the added paperwork will make the troopers less likly to trap anyone again.
When you get a trial date call the DA's office and ask for the ADA to negotiate your ticket. ADA in Summer is usually a 16yr old kid that will bump you down to stop sign violation. Note all 50 states have reciprocal info sharing as of 1989. It depends if your state chooses to use it or not. Your insurance company will most likly be checking this list twice.
Nick
I did the routine with the DA on mine and he told me to go pound salt. I said, "well, no asky no getee".

Each ticket is different & we all have different records that influence the DA's intrest in proscuting or reducing the ticket. If you don't plead NOT guilty you will never know if you could have gotten it reduced or thrown out. Helps to know a trooper and have a special sticker in ones' windshield. Stilll waiting for my special sticker.

Hi Nick, I too believe those special stickers help, at least they have for me the 1 time I was been pulled over (for passing a trooper in a rolling road block). I donate to the cause and the FOP, state troopers, etc. send me a sticker. I have other friends who swear they get more warnings than tickets because of them. I just haven't had the heart to put one on the S, plus the windshield thing wouldn't work, it would have to be a bumper sticker. Do you keep your top up enough to display them in the windshield?
