Default Tattoos

I think I've finally hit my second adolescence, assuming that I ever left my first.
I'm having tattoo sleeves done on both of my forearms. I figure at my age, who the hell cares what people think. And if I get bored with them, I'm only going to have to look at them for about twenty years.

I'm looking for original ideas for tattoos. I know there's lots of stuff on the Internet, but I want original art. The artwork is going to be a mixture of Celtic, Maine, marine animal, and domestic animal themes. No colors -- everything is being done in black and white.
However, I may go with a little Woad here and there for a more Celtic touch on some designs, depending on my mood at the time.

I'm open to suggestions for artwork from you more creative types.

I've never understood the attraction. When I see them I still think biker, sailor, convict, no matter who they are on. The last thing I would think is art. I know, my opinion doesn't matter but I hope you've really thought it through.

For the marine portion, I would look at Wyland and Lassen. Though they are both sort of over-the-top individuals, they both are very good marine artists.

Good luck on the sleeves, I too am not a tat guy, but I can see the artistic side to it.

Nearly every dolphin hugger on the planet has a dolphin tattoo. So, yes it's totally out of the question.

I am a former sailor, but I was never much of a biker or a convict. It's the forty-year-old, nasty looking tattoos that I got as a sailor that I'm covering over with new ink.

As for thinking it through, I've been wanting to do this for well over twenty years.
I've finally reached that point in life where doing such things will have no impact on me professionally, nor do I care what impact it might have on me personally. Not that either one has been all that important to me prior to now.

In any case, the process has already started. I now have a band of Maine lobsters encircling my right wrist. On my upper right arm is a Celtic moon with pentacle, which is surrounded by the names of my kids, as well as Rori's name.
