How's the arm?
Coming along. Can't high five anyone quite yet, but I'll get there. Thanks for asking.

Hope the leg is hanging on.

Still not so sure about this tattoo thing...what does the new +1 think of ink?

My leg is still attached, although I've had a couple of close calls.

Rori likes the tattoo thing. I wouldn't do it otherwise. She got her very first tattoo Saturday - a small moon with a woman's face in it. She's wanted A tattoo for a while now. After a lot of shopping around, I finally found an artist that I trust to do an excellent job. And so far my trust has been well placed.

Well, you could get a Jerusalem cross for good luck!!

Seems your transformation is progressing at pace.

Who knows what Deanisms we will encounter at SF11! You may have to get naked for us to see all the artwork!

For the marine portion, I would look at Wyland and Lassen. Though they are both sort of over-the-top individuals, they both are very good marine artists.

Good luck on the sleeves, I too am not a tat guy, but I can see the artistic side to it.
Thanks, Ken. I'm familiar with both of them. They're not quite what I'm looking for, though. I think I want to stick with a Maine theme for the marine stuff. I've been giving some thought to a Maine ocean/lobstering scene as a forearm sleeve on my left arm, as I have a bunch of small tattoos to cover on that arm. Should I go that way, I might even go full color, rather than limiting it to black and white. However, whatever way I go with my left, my right forearm is going to be done in traditional Celtic style.

I've heard some horror stories regarding MRIs and tattoos.

No nekkidity. I'm having ONLY my arms done.

No Jerusalem crosses in my future, but I have been looking at some of the authentic Celtic crosses. Contrary to popular belief, they predate the Xian cross by many centuries.

I've never had an issue with my tattoos and I've had numerous MRIs done.

The inks used in my tattoos are all plastic-based, with the exception of black. It's carbon-based. None of them should present a problem in an MRI. Metal-based dyes/inks on the other hand...

Looking at the first pic, it took me a minute to realize I was looking at an arm.

That had to hurt!
