As someone that used to travel to Europe and Germany about four times a year on business. I noticed the difference in etiquette and traffic in Germany over the years. Sadly, on my last trip in 2002 I found and it was confirmed by an American living in Germany that only 15% of the miles on the Autobahn still had unlimited speed zones due to a combination of traffic congestion and the influx of the immigrant population that had not grown up with the "driving culture" of German society. I have fond memories of my first trip to Germany being passed by "blue haired women" driving their Mercedes at 140 + MPH while driving my rental car.

Like Robb, I also look forward to the day (which will never happen) that we adopt the German policy that no one in a moving vehicle can be on a mobile phone.
