I would be interested and would help put something together, however distance is also an issue with me. What about somewhere in Central/Eastern PA? That's close for our northern and southern friends. It would also only be 4-5 hours from Ohio and Pittsburgh.

Lainey check with Bill about how long it takes us. His one hour seems to equal somewhere around fourteen for most, well may be his 2 hours equals 14.
Catherine, I think Bill stretched the truth of your drive time to hook you in on the Nor'Easter. Your drive to CT has to be at LEAST three hours.

My thought would be to move the Fall event a bit south and/or west. We have had plenty of events in the far northeast over the past 12 months. We should really be fair to folks and try to move events around a bit.
Did you have a particular area in mind? Were you thinking of the Columbus Day weekend?

When/if a date is decided upon we'll have to see if we can get the time off. Depending where it is will determine how much time we'll need and if it is doable.

How far south? I might be able to make it, depending on where it is.
Savannah is nice that time of the year. Who needs to stare at a bunch of dead leaves anyway?

I'm sure we'll do our best to join in all the fun. Karla really loves the get togethers she's been to and looks forward to meeting you all again.

[QUOTE=PokS2k,Jun 22 2006, 08:47 AM] I'd consider a fall event.

If the Fall event is intended to be a 'big' one then I agree it should be further south (how about south Jersey)?

But if it is intended to be smaller, then maybe there should be multiple events held at the same time. This way local people in each region could get together and then we can all share the experiences. Just a thought.

Nice Phil.

Valentine: I think VIR has a "hotel" on site. Otherwise there is nothing in the immediate area. There are hotels/motels on Route 50 in the center of Danville - which is about 15-20 miles west of the track. Slightly rolling terrain close to the track, whcih is essentially in rural NC. I've been there in August each of the last 4 years - but we camp. There are also some neat roads west of Roanoke in WV. Me thinks Charlottesville is a good 3 hrs + away from VIR.
