Dunno, you can't make stuff like this up. It's absolutely true. The speed was not very fast. Her car had a big, prominent chrome bumper, and my 1960s BMW 500 had a front fork with strong springs. Of course I slammed on the brakes in panic mode. Boing ga boing, front down, rear wheel up and over. Wheels to the sky and back to the ground.

No, I wasn't stoned!!

Jim, sort of one of those deals you could try a hundred times and wind up in the hospital 99?

Yep, exactly! But I must admit, I was really shook up! And pissed off, too, that someone like that was on the road. We just don't normally anticipate something that stupid - and it was technically my fault, legally.

^ Those last two stories sound like scenes from a Mission Impossible movie, lol.

It is home. Survived the 40 mile ride home without incident ( other than a stall or two)
Surprisingly I have very sore hips. Had muscle cramps while riding home on each side.
For such a big bike it got very good mileage, or at least it said it did. 40 mpg.
