Will you take 15.5 if I fly up there to get it? I'll hold it for you until you come to your senses and buy it back for 19. That's all the scratch I've got right now.
Nope. 19,000 take it or leave it.

Since I haven't gotten any bites I guess I'm stuck with it. I guess I'll just have to keep it a few more years. After all this you all better come to Pebble Beach to cheer me on.

Then my post had the desired effect.

Rob -

I've thought about selling Black Betty from time to time particularly when my back is bothering me a bit and I don't relish the tight quarters in the garage with the top up.

But even then I suck it up and make the drive up Lookout Mountain on Nick-A-Jack road and always come back with a smile that I can't explain to anyone else who hasn't experienced the feeling.

Keep your car. Another like it for the price won't come along in your lifetime.

Yes, I just found that out again.

I really was going to sell the S. I'm thinking of retiring or at least slowing down a bit. Im tired and I've been working for quite a few years. I started working very young and I'm really ready for a break. The sixty/seventy hour weeks and all of the aggravations have started to wear on me. I just wanted to uncomplicated my life and I have nt had the time to use my S much in the last year.

I put the S up for sale half hoping it would sell and half hoping it wouldn't. $19,000 was my price for a reason. So far I haven't gotten any bites.

Adam and I went out for dinner last Tuesday night. Liz works Tuesday nights in the library. Adam suggested we take the S and go to a restaurant some distance away. He insisted that I drive. I remembered how much fun the car is. I really did enjoy it.

Then I read and reread this thread. I realized once again just what the S and all of you mean to me. What a special group this is.

Dammit, you all better stay healthy until 2027 because after I win "Best In Class, Production Class" the drinks are on me.

Pebble Beach? Sure! Finally something close enough I can go to.

Rob, we'll be selling our S before long as well. As you know, it's my +1's daily driver, but it's just getting harder and harder every year to get in and out of. We need something sporty, but with a bigger door and maybe a few inches higher. We'll both miss it, but after 12 years and 85,000 miles, not enough to hang onto it. Ours is the 144th sold in the US. Think that makes it worth any more? Maybe another 5 bucks, eh?

Rob if you really do cut back on work hours, you'll have more leisure time. Time to take a spin in the S, and stop and smell the flowers, watch some birds, take some pics, or do whatever you want to do.

Phew. That's one load off. Can I really relax a little bit, now, and not be and at you for selling?
