Default Turkey: Light or dark meat??????

How do you like your turkey? Breast or leg people in here?
How about your cranberries? Canned or fresh home made?

I personally like a mix of light and dark. Cranberries are the very best if fresh home made which I'd never had before my gal made some a couple of years ago.
She also makes homemade pumpkin pies. Mmmmmmmmmm good! They are so much better than store bought. Way less sugar. Way more flavor.

What side dishes are you planning?

Good recipies for stuffing?

How many people do you expect for Thanksgiving this year? Cooking at home or invited somewhere else?

I'm not crazy about turkey in general, but, I prefer white meat over dark meat. My whole family feels the same way.

I think New Jersey is the Cranberry Capital of the world. Believe it or not I think we produce more cranberrys here than anywhere else in the country. That is a good thing because I love cranberrys. I like fresh best, but if I have to settle for canned thats fine too.

Johnny, now that you've made me think of Thanksgiving, I want some mashed potatos, stuffing and pumpkin pie too.

I prefer dark meat....now speaking of meat.

My wife is a vegetarian....you have no idea how many times I have heard the message in that video from her....but she still cooks meat for me because she knows I like it .

Can't wait to smoke the turkey again this year. Use a mixture of mesquite, apple, and plum woods. Goes for about 6 hours. You can hold the key lime pie and bring on the sweet potato pie instead.
Best parts are the drum sticks and the wings. After that its all breast.....meat.

White meat without question. Cooked in a baking bag, fully stuffed.

Haven't come across a bad suffing recipe yet. The baking bag is an excellent fast cooking method, usually 50% less time than roasting. The best part of this is that the white meat is juicy.

Have family over and the bird usually is a 20+ pounder. I stick to this cooking method because I gotta have stuffing from inside the bird. We have a couple of "health nut" wannabees in the family so I also cook stuffing in a baking dish.......yuk! If they'd only get out an exercise............well, more for me.

I eat turkey breast all year long so at Thanksgiving it's the dark meat usually drumsticks.

As far as pie ,my oldest daughter Jenny makes a killer apple crumb from scratch that has been a tradition for the last 10 years.
