Vacation Plans 2016
I've cruised twice. A traditional Caribbean cruise, left from NJ - 10 days, 4 on land, and really hated it. Felt like we were at sea all the time except for 12 hours on the land days. Did Alaska, 7 days, where the boat was really a floating hotel. On land every day, except Glacier Bay, long days in port, and really just on the boat to get from port to port, dinner and sleep.
The VRC have interested me, but I haven't done much research on them. Same thing with the Cruises in the Mediterranean or Baltic Seas.
As for our plans - We'll likely do something 'easy' after the wedding. Cindy will have some sun restrictions still so laying on a beach won't work but we'll want to get away and relax and refresh. We'll probably do something in the Feb-March range as well. Maybe New Orleans and a visit to her family in Florida? I think our honeymoon gets pushed out until November 2016, and we're still looking at the Fiji/New Zealand idea we had. We've got more time to plan now.

We're celebrating our 25th anniversary in 2016. Starting to discuss possible destinations. Everything has come up from glass floored beach huts in Bora Bora, to a driving trip through the National parks in Utah.

Well, I had already planned our trip to Lafayette LA for the +1 to run the Zydeco Half Marathon next March. See my separate thread for that. Hoping some of you can join us for good food and music.
Now that my time is my own for the first time in a long time, I've just planned an 8-day trip for us for next May aboard the Rocky Mountaineer (www.rockymountaineer.com), a wonderful train trip through the Canadian Rockies. Starts in Calgary, and includes stops in Banff, Lake Louise, Kamloops, and Vancouver before ending in Seattle. Plan to see my nephew and his wife in Seattle.
We have also talked about a trip to Paris, Giverny (location of Monet's famous gardens), and the Normandy beaches, but will put that one off until 2017, when the +1 may run the Paris Half Marathon. I had thought about the Viking River Cruise, but a boat is not that appealing to the +1, so probably will do a land trip.

Could be right up your alley.Pedal Pub I think it would work great down here. I'll bet I could get a city permit. All I need is a pedaler. Sign me up Grant, looks like fun.
I have no idea where I'll end up on vacation. Key West for sure. Everything else is spur of the moment.
MsP I've done the train thru Banff. You'll love it!!

[/quote]Sign me up as long as I can drink Corona on it and do my best imitation of Jimmy Buffet. Corona's in Paradise.
Not quite 2016, but in mid Dec, we are headed to Kiawah Island, SC for the +1 to run the Kiawah Half Marathon. Just south of Charleston. The Sanctuary there is where we will be staying. Looks quiet lovely.
