The heat is bad, but heat and flooding is worse. Looking at the rainfall map of LA - some places have had 20" of rain in the past 24 hours. Just terrible.

We are at 94 with excessive heat warnings....it's got that "feels like" temp of 104 with the humidity at 56% and the dew point at 74%. We went out for a short top down, AC o,n ride as I do not like to waste precious summer days. We stayed on back roads with lots of trees for shade, BUT damn it's too hot out there. The weather was causing a few asthma symptoms this AM and I've not had to deal with that for quite some time. A hit on the inhaler did the trick. I am so thankful for central AC. Most home around here don't have central AC. Right now it's some of the best money we ever spent on our house!

Another day in the 90's tomorrow then a break after that.

Finally getting some rain. Grass is starting to green up, but is full of weeds. AC has been on non-stop for weeks. Electric bill was a killer for June and July.

I think Patty is fine with the San Bernadino fires. They are northeast of her and the wind blows from the ocean at Patty's so she shouldn't even have bad air quality. Posting only until Patty corrects me.

If the snakes don't get her, she should be fine.

No fires in South Orange County right now. Patty's fine. Kennedy Meadows should be fine too (can't say the same for the Snake). Pretty sure things are all OK in Sacramento also where her daughter is.

Unless they allow snakes on the plane, she's good there too.

About 90° here today. It was over 100° earlier in the week. Patty is in Orange County, nowhere near the Blue Cut Fire. We were supposed to go to Big Bear Lake in the San Bernardino Mountains this Saturday through Tuesday, but the roads are all tied up with traffic with the fire-related road closures. I just put it off to the following Sunday through Wednesday.
