Voting
I showed up at the polls just as the doors were being opened and was met with quite a large number of people. Fortunately, my last name got me into the shortest line, but those people in the last half of the alphabet were still in line by the time I left. I was the 29th person to vote at my precinct this morning and it took only about 15 minutes. I'm glad I went early. Cars were lined around the block to get into the parking lot when I left. I've never seen so many people lining up to vote.
^ Yes, we had a good experience. So glad we could walk to our polling station, though!!
Only had to wait 30 minutes because we arrived before the station opened, along with some others. Many came right after us and the line was very long when we left. I'm seeing predictions of a 90% turnout in VA, which would be incredible. There is no early voting in the state. Absentee only with a reason.

I was number 16 or 17 this morning.
I love living in ruralburbia...
At 7:00 this morning I was number 261 in my district. That's amazing considering that I usually vote after dinner and I'm usually number 50 or so.
In any event, I went right in, no waiting, but as I was leaving the line was beginning to form. By time I left there were 8 or 9 people on line waiting to sign in.
The same senior citizens were there manning the polls. It was nice to see them again. They do a good job every year.
After I voted I was given an "I Voted" sticker. A little self stick label with the words and an American flag printed on it. It entitles you to a free coffee at Starbucks. I went right to the office, I didn't stop for my free coffee.

That's great to read, I'm thrilled to hear about higher turnouts.
I agree. I was thrilled to see how many people had already voted. I hope we have a big turnout for this election. Participatory democracy only works when people participate.
Voted early this AM. There were approx 30 people head of me, all complaining that they might miss the golf Tee-off Time. There were 6 of us that needed to go to work. I don't understand why the couldn't have waited till later in the day.
