Doesn't the fact that the lines are so long and that so many people came out to vote restore your faith in the system?
Nope.

Voter turnout here in mid-Delaware (home of Joe Biden) certainly echoes the levels being reported across the country. There were about 100 folks in front of us at 10:30 AM, but we were out the door at 11:05. There were 5 voting machines in the fire station where we voted, and they are apparently very efficient and accurate.
Gene, same here in Lewes. Got there @ 7:00 and waited 1/2 hr. Pouring rain and the lines were long when we left. Good to see lots of young folks coming out and one gentleman was blind and had a seeingeye dog. He had a friend with him to help him out. Joe voted in Wlmington this morning.

^ Yes, but many don't trust the Internet or know how to use it.
It wouldn't have to be mandatory on the web. But it should be one additional method of voting the way absentee ballots are. I'll bet participation would skyrocket.

Go to my poll in politics and vote...if Vintage voters are representative, Obama wins in a landslide.

As mentoned yesterday walked into the voting place yep it was busy but efficient we go by name and ward so give the name in the proper ward receive ballot vote on questions slip into ballot machine outta there i think it was maybe 4 minutes and there were prob 300 people in there. Now there wer elines for the peeps that dont know there ward or are registering to vote for the first time but not for established informed voters that know our ward number I love voting!

The other trick is knowing what time to go, never go first thing in the morning of course everyone is gonna be there doh, never go from 11-2 those are the lunch folks always impatient and certainly never go at 330-630 pm those are the folks getting out of work busy busy do go between 930-1045 am 130-245 pm and 645-8pm polls close at 8pm here

Well placed periods (.) tend to help make your point a little better.

I was in line at about 6:40 am for the 7 am opening here in Peeay (no early voting ) There were about 25 people in front of me. By the time the doors opened, there were at least 100 people behind me....stretching around half of the block

Once inside, the process worked pretty smoothly. 3 queues A-F, H-M, N-Z....similar We've had the same electronic machines for at least 5 years....no known snafu's. I was home for breakfast by 8 am

Carm, I'm with you on this. Surely there would be an easy way to flag your internet vote so that you couldn't also vote in person.

Unfortunately, there are still many folks, like Deb said, who don't trust (or use) the internet.
