Glad your surgery went well, Jerry. Don't do too much too soon, at your age things take longer to heal.

Man, there are a lot of hand issues going around. I had my right hand operated on last Friday. The cartilage at the base of the thumb was gone. The doc had to put in an insert to take the place on the cartilage. I won't be able to use the thumb for six to eight weeks. It makes shifting a real PITA.

David, are you supposed to be shifting? I saw your post about Lake George in another thread. I hope this heals up well, soon enough for you to go.

jeez loueez now your sounding like my wife...
are you my wife?

on the hand front.

last week mowing my lawn I decided to bag since we were going to have everyone park on the lawn.
I have a 48 in commercial walk behind which I've been using for 15 years or so.
It does have safety cutoffs if you leave the control area with the blade engaged or leave it in gear, but the determined idiot won't be deterred easily.
The blades do take a while to spin down.
But I must have left my brain in the house and reached into the chute area to clear the wet grass. Fortunately I wear a heavy leather glove and only got a firm whack on the last knuckle of my ring finger. light sprain of the ligament and a good bruise but no cutting at all.
no sense buying a lottery ticket now, think I used up all my luck then.
