I've had horrible luck with prescriptions... usually they make me feel worse.

The stuff I had for headaches a few weeks ago gave me WORSE headaches.

The other stuff gave me wicked indigestion.

But I think it's because they always force you to get generic drugs.
Ellen I see no difference in generic drugs, except a great price savings. How I wish my Asthma inhaler was available as a generic.

I find it best not to even read the side affects. Kind of mind over matter for me.

IF I have a problem, I'll take a glance at it, then work from there.

I think they tend to warn of every possible side effect just so they have a legal fig leaf to hide behind later.
It's also why they don't want pregnant or nursing women to come within 3 city blocks of the any medication being dispensed. Birth defects have high court settlements.

A shot in the glass is better than a shot in the ass.

funny you should mention that.
some 9 years back we got bats in the house.
My kids woke me up to say they had bats in their bedroom.
The state health service advises that you get rabies treatments if you have slept in a room with bats since their bite is very tiny and almost impossible to feel.
So we called our doctors office who redirected us to the ER for treatment.
So that would be Me, the +1 and the 2 boys.
Nurse comes into treatment area with tray of 6 needles laid out.
She asks me to come to a separate area "because she doesn't want to scare the kids before they get their shots."
I think no big deal, then she started explaining that dosage is based on weight and I realized that all six were for me.
Your in the army now, right cheek, left cheek, right cheek, left cheek, right cheek, left cheek.

Back to the doctor today. My right wrist has been swollen and achey for weeks. My right knee has gotten worse and swollen too in the past week. I'll see my regular primary care doctor today to see what's up, now.

Yeah, as long as the side effects don't kill you.

This stuff is the mildest med for RA but it can wreck your retinas, I think it is. Oh, and maybe the liver, too.
I took Plaquenil for almost 20 years with no ill effects. The incidence of eye problems is low. As long as you see the ophthalmologist every year any problems can be caught before they cause any damage.

The Plaquenil stopped working for me three years ago.

Sounds like a flareup. You may have to increase your doseage.

My lady doctor is great! I think she's the head honcho doctor where I go. She is kind, caring, listens and explains. Best I've ever had with Kaiser.

She listened, pushed, prodded and asked questions. She thinks the knee maybe osteoarthritis, and had me get it x-rayed. She said the patella didn't seem centered. She also order a couple blood tests. The hand is RA and has cysts that should go away. Since I've been taking ibuprofen so much and so often, she gave me a new NSAID Rx for MELOXICAM. Anyone ever had that one? It's a once-a-day med.

Oh, but after the doctor, lab and x-rays, I remembered that my low back has been really aching too, so I finally went to my chiro again, after a couple months off. I think he may help a lot. When my back is out of whack, it can affect my knee. He used laser treatment on my knee too, to help with the inflammation.

My hopes are up, for improvement. )
