Just started reading this...glad you went to the doctor! When I started reading the beginning about all the joint pain I though about Lyme's.....
I've considered that as well. I've read about it but with the rheumatioid factor test result being elevated, that must be the culprit.

Maybe this link will help explain the differences?
Arthritis
I got 19 out of 23 correct. If I have RA I just want to get the meds to kick it back, like it's kicking my butt. I just hope the side effects aren't worse than the disease.

Gotta know when to call it quits sometime. It's not worth pushing to do something only to hurt for days afterwards.
^Yeah, I know. But at the time, I felt great. It wasn't until the sun set that I started to hurt. And I did quit then. Course it was getting cold and dark. It was gorgeous out. The trailer is in bad need of a polish and sealer. It's out in the boondocks so it's not like I can call in my local detailer dude and get it done.

BTW, I got there on Tuesday night at about 9:15 p.m. Once I hooked up the water and did all the hook-up prep work, I just couldn't go inside to sleep. I threw down two thick foam pads and slept outside in a sleeping bag, under the stars. It got down to 33* but it was gorgeous and I was warm.

Sounds like a lovely night.

Next time could you recruit a few of Kyle's old buddies to give you a hand? Give them some $ and feed them some burgers!

Gee. Thanks for reminding me that the wife's trailer needs a polish and roof clean and seal. Now if I can just get excited about doing that.........

Maybe I'll hire that done.

I did well on the test too. More cases of OA than RA out there, as the web site indicates.

I'd guess some of my aches are OA, never bothered to check. Thankfully, it's not that bad.

Patty, forgive my if I sound naive but didn't this come on rather suddenly? I recall recent threads where you talked about moving, bike rides, trips to the gym and cleaning your car with no mention of problems. I thought arthritis was a gradual deterioration of the the joints- not an instant condition. Are you sure it's not really another malady such as Lyme ?

You need no forgiveness. Yes, this did come on rather suddenly. I was fine while I lived in Acton, but after moving here on March 1st, aches started showing up. I've had different aches, come and go, and then come again. My jaw, finger, foot. My foot pain never entirely leaves, and it gets worse and then better. My left ring finger is very painful and stiff in the morning but gradually lossens up. These aches aren't all happening at the same time and they mostly last about 4 days, and then I feel fine and forget I had them, until they show up again.

The thing that put me over the edge was the pain after waxing my cars. That sent me to the Dr. and prompted this thread. Then, I washed my 5th wheel and now my shoulders are dog doodoo. Like I said, I used to do these activities and get sore muscles but not this debilitating pain I'm getting now. I have still be going to the gym and doing weights, too, on my good days.

RA has to show up sometime, if it's going to show up. I'm at the right age, and I think the move from the dry desert air at 3,000 feet to this moist ocean air at about 700 feet, is what set it in motion.

BTW, I have an appointment on Monday, June 16th with a rhuematologist. I hope to learn something from him.

I am not a happy camper. I'm trying to understand how come I feel like I've aged 20 years in the past 3 months. I hate to whine and snivel, but Vintage seems like the place I might get some insight. I moved from the dry desert to moist air closer to the ocean. Does that mattter?

First, my left foot started aching, a lot. Hurt to walk on it. After the third Dr. visit, and being tortured by a chiro who thought he could "adjust" the pain out, I was told by a podiatirst that I have a bunionette. Left pinky toe bunion. I am taking 4 ibuprofen for it on a regular basis, right now.

My left ring finger gets so painful and stiff I have to slowly force it straight in the morning. This happens daily too.

My left jaw has gotten an ache three different times, out of the blue, where it hurts just to open my mouth. It's gone in three days. The last time I was just driving my RAV on the freeway and suddenly my jaw hurt if I opened my mouth.

Now, after washing and waxing my S and RAV yesterday, my right wrist is swollen on top and I can't bend it foward. I did over do it a little, but this never used to be a problem.

When I lived in Acton, I never had these problems. Sore back yes, but that's a given. Sore finger, toe, wrist, jaw? Never. I turned 50 in January but I didn't expect to have issues hit this fast.

What the hell? Any ideas here?
there are many things that the body needs especially at an older. i am a young guy but i am very familiar with nutrition and fitness being i am a personal trainer and nutritionist.

do you take any supplements?

you need a good multi vitamin to take every day. Also you may want to try Fish Oil extract... you can purchase it at any GNC or Vitamin Shoppe. It really does help to lubricate the joints in the body.
