Car gets SUPER dusty with sealant!
Hey guys,
I just used my Wolfgang synthetic sealant for the first time and was really happy with the results. The application time was the shortest for any wax/protectant I've ever used... the stuff was amazing.
But now... my car is absolutely COVERED in dust!! This stuff attracts dust like a magnet! Is there anything I can do to help keep the dust down?
California Car Duster? Yay or Nay on that? It seems like it could scratch the paint but I'm not so sure...
What do you guys think?

Typically the dusting issue is for lack of better terms "static" from the waxing process. This dudting tendency will decrease dramatically after the first washing.
I like either the California duster or Oxo duster. Just remember, when using the duster, have the duster nap only lightly touching the surface of the vehicle.

yup, this is the reason we began sandwiching many years ago...
at the time i was using a synthetic called finish first- every time i would cover the car it would become a dust magnet. i knew that wax is not magnetic, so decided to put a layer of carnuba over the finish first-
and magic!!!
no dust!
we then learned of many side benefits to carnuba over synthetics- and today i use p21s over zaino.
my car is in this ad, and because they dont sell zaino they didnt mention it!:

When I first started using Synthetics, I was so excited for the shine that everyone was raving about. When I was done I couldn't believe how incredibly dusty the car became and how little it was talked about on the forums. I soon realized exactly what everyone has been saying. Wash the car again, and definitely, definitely go over it with a carnauba, that should totally eliminate the dust problem.
As far as the california duster, I've tried it and I'm not impressed. The whole concept of dragging a dry cloth over a car thats littered with dust and debris seems to be asking for scratchs. If I couldn't wash the car, my second option would be a MF cloth and some quick detailer, if thats not possible, then I wold probably spray the car down with an air dryer (leaf blower).

Ouch! Be careful when you use quick detailer on a duster car, even a slightly dusty car! On silverstone it may not be a big deal, but it's the road to swirls on a Berlina.
