Default Drying with leaf blower.

I have picked up a leaf blower with the hope I could use it to facilitate drying my car as well as the common household uses for such a device. The catch is, I bought a gas powered one. I have read that you really don't want to use these on your car since they can spit oil from the 2 stroke mix if they exhaust into the air nozzle. From what I can tell, although my blower has a front exhaust, it doesn't come out the air nozzle. Also... this is supposedly a low emissions one, so I'm thinking that since they recommend you clean the exhaust cylinder port every 3mo, it catches a lot of stuff instead of just emitting it into the air. Would it be foolish to use this on my car? Is there any harm in trying other than the possibility of cleaning it twice once I've possibly learned my lesson? Here is a link to the model I bought.

i wouldnt try it... imo, just not worth the risk
(its not just the possible gas on the paint, which you can clean off, but also some could get under your badges, on the rubber, vinyl parts, etc.)
my conservative two cents...

but its not my car!!

i do use an electric one and its a pretty cool tool, especially for getting the water outta hidden places

Yep, have used an electric one with really nice results. The neighbors all think I'm nuts but then again I use a wall mounted wet vac to suck water out of the headlight and tailight surrounds.
Such are the lives of Wash and Wax wacko's.

I confirmed last night that the exhaust does not come out of the air nozzle. I'm still left with a few options to explore, the blower calls for a 50:1 mix and I'm giving it 40:1 since that's what I have mixed up for my weed whacker. This will inevitably cause it to run richer albeit with more lubrication and expel more oil. I've also heard that going with 100:1 Amsoil will just about eliminate any oil emission. I'm going to solicit some opinions from the people who show up at a tech day I'm hosting this weekend before I do anything. I'm hoping I can avoid getting an electric blower in addition to the gas one, but it might be, "necessary".

LOL, that seems truly over the edge. A hair dryer for your car. I personally like using a chamois or a good microfiber towel. Seems less of a hassle. But hey what do I know, I have never tried using my leaf blower to dry my car.
