Default Engine Bay Washing

I know the process for washing the engine bay, What im curious to know is if any special precautions need to be taken with my new Password Jdm intake. Im worried about spraying degreaser/cleaner on the intake. Do you think it will harm it at all? How about the engine detialing spray? Think thats safe to spray on the cf?

You should treat CF just like paint because it will still scuff and get swirls. Most engine degreasers should be safe anyhow, just dont let the product dry. I have a CF cooling plate and I just spray engine degreaser all over with no bad results.

Hmm I forget if I put a plastic bag over my K&N intake's air filter when I did mine, if you're paranoid you might use some saran wrap?
Engine detailer is more for making plastic purdy and such, I wouldn't be too paranoid about the degreaser since when you think about it the edges of the engine bay are painted and aren't damaged in the process..
