Are they chrome, stainless steel, or something else? TIA.

Polished stainless steel. If they were chrome, they'd be significantly more shiny.

 

Hmmm, there seems to be disagreement as to whether the tips are stainless steel or chrome-plated. I called the local Honda dealer, parts department, and they didn't know either.

Seems to me that we should know what they are if we are to determine what product we should use with which to properly polish them.

Can anyone find an authoritative word?

 

They are not chrome plated. I don't know who started this rumor, but they're clearly just polished stainless steel.
