First time out with Menzerna...
So, with my wife getting back from a week out in NYC tomorrow, I decided to spend the afternoon cleaning her car.
I hit up the usual interior work, but I also decided to give some new materials a go on her blue 60k mile old 2003 Civic Si. Having been a regular Meguiars and Mothers user, I didn't know if the money spent on Menzerna products would be worth it.
1. Menzerna Auto Shampoo with a wash-mit: This stuff feels pretty much like any other decent auto shampoo. It suds up nicely and glides well, but nothing to write home about.
2. Blackfire poly-clay: This was my first time claying a car. It's not as magical as some make it out to be, but it definitely pulled away stubborn contaminants and unseen dirt. You can feel the difference after a bit of work, and it also shows pretty nicely. Given the two years of only getting drive-through washes for over 60k highway miles, I likely won't use that piece of clay again.
3. Menzerna FP2: It deepens the shine, works, and only takes a bit more effort than, say, Meguiars Gold Class polish.
4. Menzerna Glaze: Yep, it's a glaze. I haven't met one that worked particularly better than another, and every one that I've encountered has been pretty easy to apply.
5. Menzerna FMJ: This was the stuff that blew me away. It was really easy to apply (so easy that I would have done it again had I not run out of light), and the buff-off makes it feel like the car is covered in butter. Hands glide over surfaces, the shine deepens, and the hairs on the back of my arm stood up (from static) when I put my arm next to the car.
Now my black AP1, which just got a Meguiars quick-detail, is aching to get cleaned up and look as nice as the family beater. The process of cleaning out my wife's civic took the entire afternoon until sunset, so the S2k is just plainly out of luck until next weekend.

A wipedown with a QD might help to reduce the static.
After almost a full gallon of Meguiar's Final Inspection (#34) I picked up a 32oz bottle of Clearkote's QuikShine... I love this stuff and would recommend it to anyone and everyone, so yeah... A QD might make a difference there
I haven't used any of the Menzerna sealants or glazes, but I absolutely love IP and FP2. I need to try some PowerGloss...

My only rant on Menzerna is that my car is a dust magnet after I apply the stuff. I usually top things off with P21s in an effort to combat the dust.
and my solution was the same-
top it with p21s!!!

Wanabe,
I'll quick detail the Si and throw some pictures up. It's already been rained on a couple of times, and my wife doesn't keep it particularly clean.
I did all of this work by hand, and I was pretty careful about it. I just treated the Si like I used to treat my Integra Type R (RIP).

by the way, a carnuba based detail spray can also help with dust problems (i know that is not your current concern!- but for the future something to try out)
