Default Getting Plastic off Exhaust

Somehow a plastic shopping bag latched onto my exhaust last week and made a pretty ugly mess. It's all melted onto some of the stainless piping. Any idea of a good product to get this off? Appearance isn't a big concern, but the smell is horrible.

You pretty much have to use a torch to heat it up and scrape it off with something, maybe a wire brush...
