Default How to remove plastic bag from exhaust

Unfortunately 2 days ago a plastic bag stuck in my titanium exhaust and melted.I saw it in front of me suddently and there was not much i could do to avoid it. I looked underneeth and i saw half of it melted in my beautifull J's 70RS titanium exhaust. Is there any way i can remove it from my exhaust?

Thanks you in advance
Chris

I'm guessing he meant on it. If it just left a black residue, or whatever color it may be, try using a mag polish. This seems to work very well for turning my exhaust tips back to their original color. If that doesn't work.... I'm out of ideas haha. That's a pretty uncommon thing to see.

Best of luck

same thing happened to me and it was a heavy duty plastic bag, not some grocery market type bag. I pulled off as much as I could with my hands and started scraping the melted pieces with a screwdriver being extra careful not to damage the piping. Then I decided to use some heat and that made it waaaaay easier. You can try to run your car and heat up the exhaust as it may help soften the layer sticking to the piping. I just used a good ol' fashioned bbq lighter. good luck.

Please excuse my English. I meant on the exhaust

Thank you very much for your replies. I am guessing i have to heat it to take most of the residue

Run your car long enough to heat up the piping and the plastic till it's plyable then get under there with a cool rag and some water and wipe off all the plastic. Be sure to get all the plastic off the rag before you go back to get some more. Then use some kind of a metal polish to buff the tarnish out.

I burnt deer hair and intestines all over my stock exhaust. It smelled terrible. I paid a team of philippinos $30 to put it on a hoist and hand scour it all off. Problem solved.
