good plan, or not?
Hey folks - the weather was spitting today, just enough to leave a light mist of crap on my car. I bought some Eagle 1 detail spray and was going to go over the car tonight with the detail spray and mf towels. Good plan, or am I doomed to scratch up the paint??
I washed/waxed her this past weekend (just like I have every weekend since I picked her up!!!)
The label on the spray says not to use it if the car is extremely dirty. Now wtf does that mean??
To me, she looks extremely dirty. But I don't think it meets what eagle 1 was thinking about.....
thx in advance!

this is prob one of those experience tells type questions- if i could see your car i could tell you whether the detail spray would be o.k. or not.
most likely not... cause in the rain you often get small sandlike grit up on the lower sides of the car and maybe higher.
a detail spray is best for a car that is either a little dusty or just in need of more shine. i dust my car with a duster then detail spray it. but if i see any indication of more than casual dust i wouldnt use the spray.
most likely the worse thing that will happen will be new swirls- but if there really is some sand type grime, you could possibly get small scratches.
hate to say it, but my suggestion is to rinse it first- then you could either rewash or detail spray it.

For me, my rule is, never wipe or detail the car after it runs. Only and only after a wash is it allowed. So if you want to detail it, wash it with water first, water and your hand (instead of cloth), so you can feel if their are muds or dirt. then dry and detail.
Guess my S wasn't "extremely" dirty! Just to make sure the spray wouldn't scratch, I tested it on my 97 pathfinder first, and it was much nastier than the S - as the pathfinder didn't show any ill effects, I figured it was ok to proceed.
Good to have another car I'm not quite so infatuated with to test it on first, I suppose.
Looks great, and appears to have worked very well on the S!
thanks for the input, guys!
Frankly, I don't know what the heck I did before I discovered mf...
