Default How to clean vomit inside car

My ex had a rough night and vomited all over herself and the inside of the car. I vacummed up the chunks with a shopvac, but the center console carpet is still stained. I cleaned the door panel with lexol leather cleaner, but the smell is still there. I also cleaned the seat with the lexol leather cleaner, but some of the perforations are filled in. I think I'm going to have to remove the seat, as I can see some pooling of liquid in the rear.

My number one concern is the smell.

Number two concern is how to clean the carpet.

I hope I didn't offend anybody with the descriptions. Please help.

a vacuum with good steaming qualities, woolite mixture in a bucket of water with a carpet brush. For all the vinyl, and leather, the normal cleaners, just a lot more liberal applications

Go have a professional with a hot water extractor do it. Febreeze and resolve aren't going to do it.

Febreeze and Resolve will only cover up the smell for a short period. You'll have to get it professionally cleaned. Or you can rent one of those hot water carpet extractors and do it yourself. Good luck.

read a bit over at autopia.org

most reccomend

Baking Soda
White vinegar and water (4:1)
Fabreeze
www.kidsnpetsbrand.com

and then this from DavidB

"Smell problems are pretty easy to take care of with some of the new cleaners on the market. My favorite is called ?Kids & Pets Brand Stain & Odor Remover,? by Paramount Chemical Specialties (www.kidsnpetsbrand.com). This cleaner, and others like it, use enzymes, a surfactant, and denatured alcohol to remove stains and kill odors. The enzymes kill odors in their tracks by stopping the organic material from decomposing. So, spray this stuff where your girlfriend just heaved her guts all over the front seat, and the mess and stain are gone. Don?t use it, and you?ll be smelling that night for a long time. Other products that also work okay for dealing with organic smells and stains include Febreze (Proter & Gamble) and FreshCare (Clorox). "

is this why she is your ex?

make her clean it up in her underwear

don't let her do it in the nude, or from what it sounds like, she will mess up the car even more

Find stuff called "Nature's miracle" , it's online and at some pet stores. It takes out the wierd pet piss and vomit odors instantly. Just use liberally.

I've used the Kidsnpets brand cleaner just now, and it seems that the smell is gone. I've used it on everything, vinyl, leather, and the carpet. So far so good. Right now I'm letting the stuff set in the carpet, will soak up with a dry terry cloth later.

Thanks guys...
