Default How to remove Carmax badge off of back?

Howdy!

So I just got my car from Carmax, and I was wondering what was the best way to get rid of that emblem they stick on the back? (I asked and they said they wouldn't do it for me) Here's a pic of what it looks like:

Also, where can I get covers for the holes on the front bumper for when I remove the license plate?

Thanks!!

welcome to the board and to the car!!

looks like a decal... i would first try warm water, maybe in a sponge. hold it on it until it gets good and wet then see if you can get an edge.
if this doesnt get it, i would next try wd-40... same sorta thing- soak a rag with it and hold it on. wd-40 is good for the glue clean-up once you get the decal off. use a good rag... not a dirty cheapo!! rags wash!

you will be taking off any wax that is on the car, so will need to rewax the car.

most important thought- dont use anything metal to try to remove this (no knives or blades)...

pos dealers!!!

the bumper plugs are either at your dealer or at the online parts place that i am blanking on but will find and post back

o.k. restarted my brain and remembered!!

I had the same problem with my car, and asked this question yesterday in s2k talk. Here are the responses I got: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=470677

I have had good success with first warming up the decal with a hairdryer. Not a heatgun, but just warm it with the hairdryer and it will peel off much easier. I hate those stickers.

I Just bought a 03 from carmax and told them i didnt want thier plates or stickers on my car and they took them off. Looks like you just got a anal/lazy salesperson.

Well, I ended up following instructions from the other thread:

1.) put a small towel in a large bowl and filled it with boiling water
2.) took the towel out & held it over the sticker for about a minute (careful, it's hot!)
3.) started peeling off stickers one at a time using my fingernail (no metal!)

Worked great! 5 minutes later no Carmax emblem. :-D

(note: while peeling off one letter at a time I kept holding the towel against the other letters, periodically re-warming the towel)
