Default How to remove a Pen Mark on Seats

I was cleaning my cars interior yesterday and found a pen mark. The marks look like it came from a ballpoint pen. My seats are red, and the line is blue.

What is the best way to remove the mark?

i have not had to remove ink from leather, but if i did have to i would probably look for one of these choices:

first choice:
Townsend Leather

I detailed an M3 last week whereupon I came across some ballpoint pen ink on the seats. A little Simple Green worked wonders and removed the marks.

A couple of pointers:

1) Spray the Simple Green onto a clean, white cloth first and not directly on the seat.
2) Discard of this cloth once you are done cleaning, since it will likely have ink on it, which may transfer to other parts you clean.
3) Simple Green in its concentrated form can be quite abrasive, especially for leather surfaces. Ensure that you clean and condition the leather with proper leather products once you are done removing the markings.

Good luck!

Do not use simple green, much too strong for the leather, it can ruin it very quickly, use the ink remover stick as wanabe said, it is the best way for you to try and get it out. Should that fail, then you can take more aggressive measures... ie: go to a pro and have them take it out in 5 minutes!!!

As for the Simple green working well...it took the ink off alright, but it also took off the protective top coat as well, which is similar to taking off the clearcoat on the exterior of your car...not going to last long.

At a 20:1 ratio of Simple Green to water, I can't see this being a problem. Would it have been neat, I agree, far too abrasive for the leather.

you didn't say that above and even still...its too much of a risk for me to OK, for $8 you can have an ink stick and it is worth every penny...

Not to be a jerk about it or anything, but it really is the truth, we have seen too many leather seats ruined by using similar stuff

No slight taken. Thats the beauty of internet forums. Everyone has a valid opinion, and we can all learn by sharing and exchanging opinions based on experiences, despite not always being to everyone's liking.
