Default How to remove sticky tape residue?

I had some things taped to the windshield frame, and I noticed the tape I used left a real sticky residue. I've tried rubbing with alcohol but no luck. Anybody?

Goo Gone or 3M adhesive remover should work.

everyone's a comedian. and i take full credit for coming up with the bright idea to use WD-40. just as it was i who pioneered using zaino and a pc. along with everyone following the fad i created by getting a black car (which we all know is the fastest color).

i also was the first to slice a loaf of bread, first to land on the moon, and sailed from europe to discover america. now back off!!

The windshield frame has that black tape on it. I'd be careful with WD-40. It can eat plastic

I'd also try the WD-40. If that doesn't cut it, I've got a small can of "Goof Off" that works awesome for adhesive residue if you can find some of that.

wortham-did you invent the internet, or was that Al Gore?

hehe nah. i didn't invent the internet. only the personal computer. i'm not THAT good.

lots of good tips here, sang. when i removed the adhesive last night, i just put a little bit on a paper towel and lightly wiped until it started to come off. it took a minute of soaking, but i wasn't using all that much WD-40 in the first place. but they're right on about being careful if there's some stuff around that might be harmed with the stuff.

cool, thanks guys... I'll hit up Home Depot and look for the Goo Gone. I don't want to risk the wd40 messing up the fine windshield tape!
