Default Meg's Scratch X...follow w/ paint cleaner or wax?

I think I am going to try Meg's Scratch X as I've heard it is one of the better by-hand products on the market. The directions say to follow up with wax, but would I get better results if I follow up with a paint cleaner (like Sonus Paintwork Cleanser) prior to waxing, or does the Scratch X do everything I need to do prior to wax?

Going straight to wax should be fine, Scratch X is actually a pretty mild abrasive which finishes out LSP ready. The only time you might want to use a paint cleanser after it, is if you're planning on applying a finnicky sealant like Zaino. The left over oils from some polishes can occasionally cause some bonding or hazing issues with them, but you should be fine with a carnauba.

Can anyone comment on the effectiveness of Scratch X compared with something like Sonus SFX series stuff?

I had originally planned on doing SFX-2 and SFX-3 followed by P21S wax, but I don't have a polisher, so I will be working by hand. Would I be better off just spending $7 on Scratch X rather than $25 on SFX-2 and SFX-3?

scratch x is more of a touch up product, imo than a product to do a complete swirl removal-
have not tried using it as my main swirl removal product.

i have used the sonus products for polishing and they are fine- my personal opinion is that you should not do this by hand...
post up in your local forum (cant tell where you are) that you have product and refreshments if someone can supply the machine and know how...
this has always been my most popular suggestion on this board

you would get the car polished the way it should be done and make a new friend in the process!!

Your friend keyed your car? Some friend.

I've found Scratch X works on smaller scratches but anything I can see from a relative distance isn't going to work.

scratch x doesnt do anything for swirls. i've tried and it just doesnt do it. i do however, use it after a rubbing compound if there are bigger scratches, the scratch x does a great job at taking out the haziness left by the rubbing compound.

scratch x is a filler mostly and not so much an abrasive. dont believe me? take a spot that is highly scratched, but lightly. the under doorhandles on an older car for example. and use scratchx on it until you can't really see the scratchs. after like 2 weeks, the same scartches will be back. use it on the passender side and not the driver's because it is touched too much

i dont believe you. i have done plenty of scratch buffing with scratch x, and the scratches have never come back. you have to use retard strength when using scratch x for it to work
