Default Microfiber towel problems

I need some help with this one. I have washed my microfiber towels with two different detergents (Chemical Guys and new PakShak) and am having the same issue with both. When I get the towels out of the dryer, they are not really soft, and feel like they "catch" on my hands. Almost like static, but from the cloth and it doesnt go away. This last wash, I washed them twice and added vingear in the rinse cycle. Have any of you had this problem?

When I use them on the car, none of them glide like a new one does and it is leaving tons of very, very small pieces of lint on the paint. At first, I thought they were scratches, but if i wipe with my finger they come off. Whats the deal? Is it some crazy residue that it is coming from my washer or dryer (coin operated at the apartment complex). It is very frustrating.

Anyone with a home dryer want to run a load of wash for me on these? please?

if you were by me id wash em for ya. but it sounds like they were washed with like a regular towel or dried with something else. Maybe there was lint left over from other people when you washed and dried your rags

its gonna be hard to get that lint out because the microfiber holds onto those little pieces of lint like magnets.

Mine catch on my skin all the time. thats what they do. the lint will be hard to get out. Next time using the washer/dryer at the apartment, just make sure it's cleaned out beforehand. I had to do that for over a year, so believe me, I know your pain.

Also, order some Micro-Restore detergent from Autogeek. Works great on cleaning the microfiber. Just use it like detergent, 1 0z for small to medium loads, and 1.5 oz for lrge loads. dry in dryer without any other stuff in there, low heat no fabric sheets and you should be good to go.

Good luck

Ben,

I am so sorry to hear and dont mean to get off your issue but I had a problem with Autogeek towels too. I bought my towels in the link below, I washed them with other towels (bought from ProperAutocare.com (they are white)). These Autogeek towels color bled and ran into others. My others look terrible and not soft as before any more. Very upset!

Call me crazy but... I dont think your suposed to dry the towels in the dryer I dont dry mine in the dryer and they are soft. I hang dry mine in the house (to keep contamination to a min.) and usually when you hang dry a normal towel they get hard but the microfibers don't. I have 2 cobra's from auto geek, 1 from griots, and a couple from autozone that I dry all by hanging and they are always soft and not clingy.

Isn't there something like how you're supposed to add vinegar to keep it soft?

Use very little vinegar and rinse them well. I think that the acid in the vinegar "etches" the microfiber slightly and gives them that rough feel. I've had that happen to mine before, but they got better on subsequent washes. I would only use the vinegar occasionally and then use a small amount........like 2-3 oz per load. I don't think that this is an issue with a particular brand of towel.

Thanks for the input, guys. I guess my next idea is to go to the big industrial washers at the coin operated place around the corner and wash em again. Hopefully, it was some residue that was in my washing machine and this time it wont happen.

This sucks.
