Do you guys happen to know whether these two brushes use the same bristles? I want to make sure before I use my fender well brush on my wheels.

you can use just about any brush on the wheels... and either of those would be fine.
as i recall, the diff between those is the length of the handle-
if i could only have one, i would get the longer handled one...
my long handle brush is my "go to" brush- the others only are used rarely in comparison

Those Mothers bristles are a bit hard for my tastes.
The best ones are the boars hair brushes for wheels, but they are pretty pricey.
Before shelling out for these mothers, go to your local Big Lots and see if they carry the megs brushes. They normally have them for about $4

I just did a quick search on Autogeek and the only boar hair brushes that I could find are used for washing cars. Would these be a bit weak for scrubbing off brake dust and road grime?

I have both of the mothers brushes (actually I have four different mothers brushes but that's another story). Yes, the bristles are the same, the only difference is the handle length.
