Oxidation on deck lid!

Default Oxidation on deck lid!

I have some oxidation buiding on my trunk and I need some advice on whats the best way to get rid of it and get my shine without getting a whole new paint job!

i would clay first to make sure its not something in the paint... then polishing is the next step.

has the car been waxed always?

I would say the only way would be to polish... but if your S2K is oxidized... I'm going to frown.

I believe its oxidation! I have tried polishing it at a detail shop and it would look good, after a while it reappears. I don't have any pics yet but i willl try to get some! It's a real light fade on the paint.

after how long until it reappears??
does it feel really smooth, or at all rough? (best way to feel paint is with the backs of your fingers- new paint feels like clean glass... really smooth)

if you have been taking it to a good detail shop, they should have been able to fix it and they also can tell you what it is. imo, time for you to take over the polishing!!

Thanks wanabe I appreciate all the advice I will keep you posted on it! by the way its feels slighty rough it almost seems like the clear coat is fading! Should i just get the clear coating re-done?

if no peeling, clay would still be the first step with roughness...
