Default Plastic Trim under windows

I have some light scratching and oxidation on the plastic trim pieces that are under the window on the exterior of the car. Do you guys know of any ways to polish these up and make them look new again, or is this a piece you just have to replace?

got some pics?

jimi's suggestion will bring back the color..
for plastic scratches you gotta use a plastic polish- not an easy product to use. try it on a small area first. if you do polish those areas, be careful not to hit the paint, and then i would vinylex or 303 the area. if that doesnt bring back the black then go for jimi's suggestion.

No matter what, mask off that paint! Send pics before and after. Good luck

Ah yes... these are problematic. It's soft, so hard pressure only makes it worse... I MIGHT try some Klasse AIO and a MF cloth and rub ever so lightly... It will take some time, but it very well may improve the scratches. Test a small area first.

Well these pieces are easily removable so hitting the paint won't be an issue. Now i'm just confused whose suggestion to go with...with plastic polish, would a porter cable be advised or would that be too much?
