Polishing Questions
I finally found some time to take my first attempt at polishing. I started with the hood which had some light scratches and very minor swirling. While polishing, I have come up with some questions that I'm sure many of you can help answer, so here goes:
1. The car is GPW which made it somewhat difficult for me as I could not tell whether the polish had completely broken down or not. Do any of you have any tips on making it easier to tell if the polish has completely broken down on a GPW color?
2. I am using Menzernas Super Finish (103) polish and an Uber blue pad for this process. While polishing, I noticed a lot of polishing dust starting to form. From what I can tell, the polish has not been completely broken down yet. I am not sure if I am polishing for too long or not long enough. After doing the hood, I had to wipe the surrounding area down several times because of so much dust forming. Do any of you have any insight on this?
3. After each section, it seems that the polish is rather difficult to wipe off. Again, I’m not sure if this is an indication that I am polishing for too long? I used some detailing spray to get all the remaining polish off but something tells me that I am doing something wrong here. Maybe I am using too much polish?
That’s it for now but I’m sure more questions will arise as I continue to finish the car. Any advice will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

cant wait to see pics and to get a badge request pm from you!!
1. yes white is prob the most difficult cause it is hard to see when the polish is broken down. you can still tell though... just look for dust- when you see dust you are there. its not an exact time.
2. maybe too much polish?
3. yes, i think its too much polish- try less and see how that goes
i think that the main issue is too much polish. have you had a chance to check out some of our videos? i will try to find one and post back here.
sure hope you are getting my pics!!

I would suggest using some strong lights to enable you to see the polish better. Also, is it cold where you are? As one of our members recently found out, chilled polish can be difficult to use.
