Quick question on product
OK, so I'm having troubles getting ANY detailing stuff here, getting close to importing it from USA
But I managed to find STP engine cleaner, for removing the crap from the bay, and Armourall Protectant for vynyl and leather for interior and rubber parts.
Anyone used either? I have searched, come up dry.....
Also would like to know if Armourall would be suitable as an engine detailer like you guys use (ie, clean engine, spray on armourall, stand back and watch it shine!)
And finally, can you use the Armourall on the softtop, as it says "not for woven fabrics" but can't find raggtop here
EDIT FOR SEARCH COMING UP!
Sorry, have actually grown a brain and found out feedback on AA, glad I hadn't used it!!
How about the STP?
Thanks in advance

dont know the stp cleaner... just make sure its not acid based. if it is and you still want to use it, make sure it never gets on a dry surface. acid can damage everything under the hood, especially rubber. if its non acid then its fine.
be sure to check out our engine cleaning thread at the top of our board.
agree with eoe's thoughts.
for the top, vinylex, 303 and raggtopp for vinyl are the best choices in the u.s. - dont know of any others in your area.

If you're having that difficult a time finding products in UAE, it sounds like you're going to have to have stuff imported to you either way. So, may as well get the right stuff.
For engine detailing, the STP stuff may be fine, if it meets the criteria that wanabe set forth. He's right on. Failing that, what I usually use is a 1:4 mix of White Lightning (or Simple Green) to water, in a spray bottle. Then I take the car to a coin-op car wash, the self serve kind, and spray the motor down. Let it soak for a bit, and then on the wand's softest setting, I rinse. Usually the drive home generates enough heat to get most, if not all, the stray rinse water nice and dry.
To shine stuff up nicely afterwards, I've not found anything that's as well suited to this as Adam's In and Out spray. It works marvelously well. It also seems to not attract dust and dirt in the way so many similar products do. If you don't like stuff super shiny, you can always go back after and wipe it back down. It comes off easily, even if you get overspray onto your glass, it comes right off. Smells kind of nice too.
Our forum sponsor, Detailer's Domain, has not steered me wrong yet as far as products. I can say with confidence that anything you have Phil shipped to you from the US will work exactly as you want it to. If you decide to order from him, a quick vouch for Einszett Cockpit Premium. I just went over the interior of my own S2000 this afternoon. Cockpit is wonderful stuff - it leaves no trace of itself behind once dry. Just clean, matte vinyl and plastic - looks like it just rolled out of the showroom.

For this detail I used ALL Meguairs products. You should be satisfied with your results.
Don't forget the Clay bar. This Mercedes looked amazing after clay. The difference it made is simply stunning! Reason why I say stunning is because all I used is 2 steps, Clay, Meguiars Gold Class Wax. That's it
BTW that car never was detailed before. Had 40k miles on it and and 4 years of Boston snowy, salty weather. The only wash it ever got was when it was in for service in the Mercedes Dealer. I know SAD
