Default rust on rotors

I just put on brand new slotted and cross-drilled rotors and they are already collecting rust when it rains. When I drive most of the rust comes but it stays down in the slots. What should I use to clean the rotors?

how long does it last, I'm guessing only until it rains again, or maybe the next time I hit a puddle

If you clean them frequently you'll be fine. If you have the same rotors as those in the link it is the brake dust not the rotors themselves that are rusting.

"the rotors are cadmium plated, so i don't have to worry about rust on the non-braking surfaces"

wortham / wanabe: which rotors do you guys have?

Does the rust come from the pads or the rotors? I've been cleaning mine with Hot Rims and a toothbrush.

Go get some CLR (calcium, lime, rust) solution. The rust just rinses off.
