So I just got back to school... two hours with my luggage in the passenger seat..
anyway, the luggage left some nasty scratches on my dash where it was resting the entire trip
there were some indentations in the dash as well, but luckily those have since gone away.
I tried 303 with no luck, any ideas to get the scuff marks off my dash?
you can try a plastic polish, but they are really hard to use with much luck... have you really put on a lot of 303 and let it sit awhile? if the scratches are deep enough to catch a finger nail, 303 would not do anything. in that case, polish is the only choice... again, plastic is the toughest material to polish.
thanks for the information wanabe! you never let me down.
i will try this in the morning when the sun is out. i don't think the scratches were very deep at all (just seemed like scuff marks) so hopefully the 303 will work. if not i think i have some 3m plastic polish laying around here somewhere..
I had some scuff marks on the lower part of my dash on the passengers side. They were NOT really scratches in the vinyl....just discoloration from something rubbing on it.
I cleaned the area with 303 cleaner and applied black leather dye. After it dried [it dried somewhat shiny] I rubbed the area down with a soft cloth to remove the sheen. I did this a couple of times, blending it into the surrounding area, until I was satisfied with the color match. I then applied 303 Protectant over it.
Unless you look really close with a flashlight you can't tell where the dye was applied. I did this about 1-1/2 years ago and have never had to touch it up.

3m is good, and mothers makes some good stuff...can use it with a power ball.
as with any polish, be sure to try it in a small lower area first to make sure it works for you.
btw, very happy to help!! (and thanks for the comment)
Sorry to bring this from the dead, but I have a couple of small scuffs in the lower passenger dash as well. I was wondering if anyone has had any luck getting them out? I scuffed the dash on accident while removing the knee panel when I was running speaker wire. I tried cleaning the area with 303 cleaner, then applied black wow and the scuffs still show in certain light.
