Default Scuffs on trim

I always seem to scuff the trim when taking the boot cover off. What's the easiest way to restore the black trim after being scuffed or scratched.

Right now I have Scratch-x and follow up with Meguiars or Vinylex. Is there a one step polish and conditioner? Something I can carry with me, instead of a whole detail kit.

scratch off polishing kit for real scratches...
or meguiars plastx for light scratches-
not sure i would use scratch-x might be a bit harsh on plastic- its good for paint scratches, but not so sure that i would trust it on plastic.

the very best way is to prevent the scratches- i put a couple of detailers towels just behind the boot when i take it off or put it on. and then remove it carefully...

Sorry, I meant plastx. not scratch-x. I use both but the names are similar so....

Who makes scratch off? I do have a couple scratches that are deeper than a typical scuff.
